Riverwoods

Beautiful, lush trees offer shade around the majority of Riverwoods' spacious homes. Located 27 miles north of the Loop, this exclusive community was incorporated in 1959.

It has retained its rustic, wooded environment as a result of carefully planned zoning laws prohibiting excess development.

Housing. There is very little property available for growth in Riverwoods. Buyers may choose from ranch homes and other custom-built styles. The average sale price for a single-family home in 2000 was $532,536, with a low sale price of $258,000 and a high of $1,100,000.

Schools. Elementary age children attend schools in Deerfield District 109 and Lincolnshire District 106.
